I see lots of folks running their minis as low as that - are you not on the bump stops at the front? I'm down to about 8mm bump stop clearance and nowhere near as low as yours....

Haha yes, although I'm not super low, i still need to do some bump stop surgery

Ah, of course... Stanley. I'm a bit slow
naughty naughty.... Mind you, I'm sure there was a thread maybe on here, where someone did alot of experimenting with seeing at what position the balljoints fouled on the pin, and I tihink they found it wasn't as straightforward as just cutting the bumps = trouble. Can't find that thread now.

Yeah well either way, it's still sat on the cut down bump stops haha, Hopefully it won't put too much stress on the ball joints.
I also forgot there's a 1/4 spacer before the bumpstop, so I shall remove that and see if it helps.

As much as I like the look of a low mini, I much prefer a bit of suspension travel. Especially with the shocking state the roads are in up here in Scotland.

The more I think about it the more I want to build a rally styled daily driver with some 10" knobbly tyres, big mud flaps, spot light and raised ride height. It would certainly go against the grain and probably be more fun to drive.

Have you ever looked at pictures such as the advertising posters etc that were used for the minis, and seen how high the standard ride height looks? It's quite something compared to all the lowered ones everyone has now!
Some examples - note images are from aronline.co.uk :

Those were often on brand new minis where the cones hadn't settled so that would explain the monster truck stance, when settled they are lower than those pictures show. I think anyway.

Suppose that's a fair point actually...
