Hi Everyone,

My name is Matt and I live in Adelaide, Australia. The car that Morris850 is actually my car called Queenie. He let me know about this thread and that I might like to add to it.

Queenie is a 1964 Austin Super Deluxe. She looks entirely original from the exterior apart from the Cooper S wheels which I added. I had these painted in the white to match the English S's. I am in no way trying to make the car an S replica rather just wanted some wider wheels to run some decent tyres and wanted to keep the "sleeper" look of the car so decided S wheels were the best option.

Recently, Queenie's idler gear bearing let go, which kicked the gear side ways and chewed the gear box case. So I rebuilt her 1100S motor and decided to build a Mk2 S gearbox for it which is a 4 Synchro box with taller 1st - 3rd gears which her motor really appreciates. The motor is a 1310cc with a Kent 266 cam and a 3.4 diff. The car is fitted with S discs and stepped rear drums. I have retained the 850 diff housing as I love the look and feel of the pudding stirrer lever. The car runs a 1.5"SU at moment but I had a set of Twin 1.25"SU's which I will fit to it at some stage.

I recently had the front seats retrimmed and the interior is tartan red.

In the area of styling, I have a rear venetian blind, wing mirrors and the BMC side mudflaps. I cant take credit for the styling but I am in no way going to change any of it. I bought the car from some really good friends of mine who had the eye for styling. The only thing I had added are the wheels which I mentioned.

She is definetly a fun car to drive and I drive her everyday.

I also own a 1967 Austin Mini Countryman Woody, 1974 Clubman Van and a 1965 Mk3a Sprite.

Cheers,
Matt

Here you go. This is 10x6 deep dish ultralites from minisport cost around £300 with yoko tyres, with huddersfield mini-spares group 4 arches. On cooper s disc's, no spacers and they fit perfectly!

Hope this helps!

Can't really pin it yet guys. simply because People have posted up pictures of their wheels without saying what they are,.. where they are from and how much they cost. Which are the main things people ask for when starting up 'lets see your wheels' threads. It's also important to list what arches cover the particular wheel and where the arches came from.

If you post a picture up,.. write the details down ;D then we can look at tidying it up and possibly making it a FAQ too.

Minifinity had a Wheels gallery, It had potential but think about how many different wheel types there are, all with the different sizes, then copies etc... the thread would be massive. But as long we're careful and link to pictures rather than attach them to posts, i can't see the problem.

If we can get a nice orderly collection of wheels with the vital details. Then i might wave my magic wand, with Jammy's permission :w00t:

There is a wheels thread allready in the FAQs section.

13s would have a higher top speed due to their circumference. Most 10s are lighter which translates to better response. That usually improves handling and acceleration as the engine doesnt have to work as hard to move the wheels.
