I have jsut done what you are looking to do.

To put your mini onto 10" wheels you must change the front brakes unless you want to grind down the caliper which is a bit :S!

Mini sport do a conversion ... Mini sport kit.............. clickkkk

Also if you get 6" wide wheels you will also need to trim the inner arches to allow full lock

ALSO After my conversion i have found the suspension is not stiff enough so am having to upgrade to adjustable Spax or equivalent

Hope this helps...
Tom

Hi there, yeah as above, i changed the calipers to Minisport 4 pots as the original AP calipers dont fit under 10" wheels.
I would not advice grinding calipers down, just as a safety thing.
The arch was traimmed a small amount at the front, to allow the wheels to turn with rubbing.
My suspension includes genuine HI-lows, KYB dampers and 1.5 neg lower arms. The back has also adjustable camber.
The tyres are Yokos (of course) and wheels are ultralites from Minisport 10x6.

Hope this helps. Thanx

Oh yeah, also the standard 8.4 discs will need ground down to at least 7.9 to fit under 10's.
Theres about 2mm between the caliper touching the inside of the wheel.

Here is my 1998 Cooper Sports Le.
It came new with Sportspack wheels & arches.

I swapped the front factory brake set up for a Minisport 7.9" vented brake disc & alloy four pot caliper set up.

So I could fit my 10" CMW Split rims

to be honest id say not, with my group 2's on, its pushing it. A few people have commented on them, but ive no thread showing, just wall of the tyre as they are stretched slightly.
HTH, thanx tony!
