So I also figured it would make sense to shot blast and powder coat the subframe to make sure it lasts forever.
Also, now the oppurtunity has arisen, I will replace all the subframe-body mountings with poly items.

I was thinking of going Bike power in my Locost and if reverse was needed fitting a small electric motor (like a winch motor) to the rear axle because a reverse gear box is dearer than a bike engine complete .

I think you need reverse for an SVA.
However, in MOT land the rules only apply to stuff that is fitted. So if you havent fitted a reverse then it does not have to work.
That is how I am lead to believe it works anyway. I don't actually know for certain.

:fear:Oh pray tell dear friend .......
Must admit there not cheap for the Seven Boys. But would love to be able to fit one to my Min.
It's no great secret, just building the suspense. lol
The fact is I'm not entirely sure my explanation would be correct until I have the bits infront of me and put them together.
Plus I'll have pics then.
Give me two weeks or so and I'll show everyone in glorious technicolour.
Clive - I will let you know as soon as I am sure myself.

That one looks do-able because it mounts under the steering column.
But I think I'm goona go down the button route, because it's only gonna cost about a tenner to do it with all the bits I've got.
Keep me posted on what you find tho mate, because It is something I will be keeping an eye out for in the future.
