Painted the seam welded subframe today...
...with what I thought was chassis black, but was actually under seal with wax oil. Doh!

Oh well, at least it wont rust! LOL

Also zinc primer'd and painted engine bay.
Can't wait to get my tools back. I'm dying to put the front end together.

Yes have replaced all my stolen tools and will be on track again shortly. Just got a few bits to do with the minus. It takes priority I'm afraid as it is my getting to work car.

Well done Alburglar for doing this! I'm looking to be following in your tracks over the coming months so I could need to borrow your valuable experience

It seems like you've had to spend most of your time unceaseing things or repairing rusted bits

Must be frustrating. I'm just praying that whatever Donor mini I end up with it'll be a bit less rusty. I'm not sure I could cope with all the welding (I don't think I'm as brave to just get stuck in) but I've always said I'll give anything a go once so this'll be my chance to prove it.

How difficult would you say the work is all in all? I'm fairly handy with cars (I've changed the gearbox on my Subaru and wired all the stereo, turbo timer, Afr monitor etc etc) so I'm praying that this won't defeat me.
