Hi Dom

A very impressive 103bhp I'm a bit shocked at the result as I was only expecting around 85-90bhp.

Maybe someone out there knows if my engine has more to it than I think? As far as i'm aware its a standard 1275 cooper engine with a stage one kit and single HIF44 carb, would this set up give these kind of results (103bhp)??

No more progress as yet because have been drinking in dublin, working my arse off and sorting out the minus with straight cut gearbox and various bits.

But do not fear I have not given up enthusiasm and should get some time for smurfy soon.

a motorbike mate of mine suggests you

get 2 engines that power a rear wheel each and have it wired so u control both engines with a single throttle

Yeah, that is a C**p idea. It is very possible to stick to engines in tho. It's been done loads and you can buy the kit from z-cars

Tried to finish the welding in the floor but just can't do it from undederneath the car. Considered rolling it on it's side but don't think it's wise with all the floor cut out. so i gave up with it today and seam welded the front subframe instead.

Am now considering getting the car on it's wheels so I can find a garage to do the tiny bits of floor welding.

Here's the subframe:

Good news.
I have finally found a solution to my bearing stuck on removed drive shaft problem. I bought new bearings set. so hub can get put together and build can proceed.
