Did a little bit of work today. but had to cut my efforts short in order to go the pub this avo.
Finished the other side of interior metal work today...
...and found a rust hole.

Please do not underestimate how carefull you have to be when removing the spot welded stuff. Especially the bit behind the door rubber's, because if you go too far then you could easily grind straight through the lip on the quater panel.

I have also cut out the hole for the glove compartment in the dash and used adhesive sealant to bond the box to the back of it.

It's gonna be body colour eventually. But will go in place in it's current gel coat for the time being.

You can get them from:
http://www.hungoverd...entre/products/

It's a place in Kent that I only came across at their stand at Southen mini days.
I don't know why these dashes aren't more commonly used?
They do leather ones and all sorts.

Mine came with the car un-fitted.

also I have found a 1976 mini minus shell with V5.
I am gonna buy it and work on it over winter ready for the R1 kit next summer.
Smurfy's Reg plate and monocoque will then be for sale to anyone who wants a z-cars conversion but is worried about doing the floor chop and prep work.

Going for a beer now

It's a Ferrari 250 LM Replica, called the RAWLSON 250 LM. My Uncle used to produce them as kit cars in the 70's based on a beetle floor plan. He then sold the rights to produce it to a guy I bought the kit from and to tiger cars, but they use a spaceframe chassis and RSTurbo engines. The oppurtunity came up to buy it last year but he wasn't in a position to take it. So I did.

I won't have it for long tho, because I'm giving it to him. I can't insure myself on it because It's got a fiat 2litre twin cam from a miafiori plus webers . I don't like it just sitting there. It needs to be finished, re-sprayed and out on the road!

I am getting a mini minus shell soon and I need the garage space. So I'm giving my uncle the 250 LM and he is gonna give me any help I need with the fibreglass preparation on the minus to get it ready for my z-cars kit. I will be doing this over the winter and swapping the kit this time next year.

I bought it for £600, sold a spare 1600 beetle engine that came with it for £350 so I'm not too out of pocket. And I would never sell it to anyone other than him so He might as well have it, before I've spent any money on it.

Very torqy. But I think the twin cam is a bad match to car, because it is a tall heavy engine. This isn't good for weight distribution in most cases, but it is exagerated even more on a beetle chassis because the engine is mounted behind rear axle and so the rear end is very very twitchy.

I think Uncle plans to use a 2.2 litre air cooled porsche engine and box that his mate has got.
This will be perfect.
