...and finally
a little preview of what people will very briefly see charging into the sights of their rear view mirror.

Also started to do a little bit of interior cutting today. Not quite on the floor yet but soon.

You have to measure 29" nack from the rear of the box section that is where you front seats would normally be.

...And again
I used a metal rule and an old precision screw driver to srape my markings onto the floor.

If you did a rebody, as in use all the mini bits Engine suspension etc, then they will cal it a rebody and let you use the V5. The last Minus I look at, the DVLA altered the V5 so it said Mini Minus. That car would not be a problem to do a Conversion on.

But if you try to do a conversion on a Minus that's not registered properly then it's
not the original engine rear suspension etc, so if they get funny then it's only the front suspension left from a Mini. Not realy enough to qualifie to keep the original donor Mini V5...

Pitty we didn't bump into each other last week when viewing it.....

I also started to cut away some of the metal work in the interior of the car that is no longer needed.
First I cut away a section of the rear bench so that I can get the grinder to my line properly.

I also made the intial cuts on the "thing-a-me-bobs" at either side of the rear bench. This gives an idea of what it will look like, but do bear in mind that I will finish the rest of it with a grinding disk.

I had to remove the rubbur door seal to get to this side bit properly.

I was gonna remove the rear subframe and cut the floor away today, but I cant remove one of the couplings in the brake line. If I give it too much stick it will snap off the brass pipe (like I did when removing one from the front subframe).
One came off easy but the other turns the pipe when I turn the nut on the coupling

Anyone got any tips? Should I try to heat the coupling and pipe up and then try removing it?

Surly should you not just replace the pipe from the front ? i.e. cut it off. Brake pipes are cheap etc.

Yeah, I'm not worried about it, It's just that I'm trying to do stuff as if I'm retaining the Items. For practice really.
A bit silly I know and I'd already decided to replace all the brake pipes anyway.
Was bored of "practicing" by the end of yesterday tho and will cut the remaining rear one on my next day off.

Whenever that day occurs the rear end should be out!

The arches are genuine Rover Sports Pack from the 1.3i Coopers.
They were £120 from www.P&Lmini.co.uk.
I bought the fitting template for em as well.
