i've got a 95 spi with a swivelling semi-circular ashtray. Do they just yank out or do you have to do some sort of voodoo with the dashboard first?

i don't smoke so i was thinking of using that area to hold my mobile.

The swivelling bit just pops out - open it til it reaches the stop then open it some more and it should come out - there is only a spring-loaded ball holding it in. The housing can then be removed by carefully levering it out - it just clips into the dash rail.

I just swivel it round so its facing me and then sit my mobile in the tray part - works great :-

aye that was broadly my plan. i need to wash it first and maybe have 'something' that holds the top half of the mobile otherwise it will become a projectile at the first pothole/dip
