Hi Jay. Flattening is when you have applied the final coat you then wet'n'dry it to a dull finish(this gets it ALL level). You then cut it with a finishing compound like T Cut. Finally you polish and buff to get the shine back.

Ah OK so this process is to basically remove any imperfections in the paint?
I have a question about metalic paint if anyone can help me.
Basicly I am thinking about buying a base coat kit & buying the pearl paint seperately because it works out a fare amout cheaper than the acctual pearl kit;
5lt of black base coat
5lt 2k Clear Lacquer
2.5lt 2k hardener
£90 for the kit
£50 for 2lt Pearl Paint
£140 total. £70 cheaper than buying the pearl kit.

Now my only worry is, would i need metallic or non metallic for my base coat? & apart from primer, is there anything this kit is missing that i am going to need?
Will I need regular or 2k primer?
