I have a 12G202 head as spare and really don't have any use for it. This is all I know about it:
Casting Number: 12G202
Inlet Diameter: 1.156"/29.36
Exhaust: 1.00"/25.4
Nominal cc: 26.1
Standard Fitment: 997 Cooper, Austin 1100 Mk
I got the info from this site: Cylinder Head info
It is in good shape, just needs cleaned up......does anyone know what (if anything) these heads are worth? I was told they are kind of uncommon but again....I really don't know. I suppose they would only be worth something to someone that is trying to restore one of the models it came from right? Let me know!
How Much Is This Head Worth?

Not big bucks...
they can produce better flow figures than the std 998 head, but they need a fair old skim to reduce the overly large combustion chamber... The trend nowadays seems to be replacing the small bore head for a 12G940 (1275 head) and pocketing the block, provides much better flow results for generally less money...
Also being old, most people would want to run unleaded, therefore would need the seats doing...
It's only real market is the purist after originality.

These are a good option for a 998cc turbo as it has a good wall thickness so has good potential for porting, more so than a 12G295 which is very good in its standard form. Not worth anymore than £30 though.

Thanks for the replies guys! I did have two 12G940 heads but my wife sold them to a chap while I was sleeping for 15 quid for both! My Mini's 998 has been rebuilt but I am going to be doing a 2.0L Vauxhall swap on it so I really don't know what I'll be doing with any of the old Mini engine related stuff. Here 998's don't go for very much BUT I'd wager if I took it back home (USA) I could get a pretty nice chunk of ca$h for the engine and all the little bits I have as spares for it. I'm guessing here I could sell the complete motor and gearbox for 100 quid and as you said 30 quid for the head. But back home I could probably get $600-$1000 for just the engine/gearbox! I think I'll hang on to it and go that route......now I just have to make a good wooden crate that will fit the engine/gearbox/front subby! Cheers!
