Maybe the new section could be set up in such a way that no individual member could actually 'post' directly to it. It would be purely for the admin team to select suitable threads, or content from threads, which they consider to be worthy of bringing to the attention of members and making it permanently and easily accessible rather than it being lost to the ether.
For example, I would doubt that anyone would want or indeed need to read all the way through this thread just to discover how to fit a drop bracket without endangering ones life but any of the admin team (who between them I assume read all the threads) could create a short 'article' for everyones benefit.
Already in this thread (post #18) there has been referrence to previous threads which indicate the possibility of substandard ball joints being available on the market and there must have been many other comments about things now long forgotten but still relevent.
Surely information such as that is serious enough to warrent its own heading.
