Hello all.

My last headphones topic was me looking for some decent ones, but i gave up on that and have ended up going through about 5 pairs of £15 headphones.

And really, im after some decent ones that wont break after about a week. And dont cost the earth.

The fault with most these cheapy headphones is the crappy chinese wire, which snaps or breaks inside,

I'm after some of the rubber tipped ones that go in your head canal,

But NOT skullcandy. Dont stay in and fall apart instantly.

Ideas?

last set i used were KOSS Spark plugs - they were about £15. better than the skullcandy as the 'buds' were made of foam. just roll the foam in your fingers so it shrinks, put it in your ear and it expands outward to fit in your ear. sounded really good for the money. They lasted me a few years of abuse.

Take care of them and then won't break? I've had my pair of Sony E888s for a good few years now, they go with me everywhere including running and are still going strong.

Ditto - spent about £70 on a set of headphones couple years ago and they've been spot on. Take them everywhere. Worth spending money on to be honest

the way i look at it is you get what you pay for, you buy cheap you buy twice, these types of headphones are terrible anyway and not very good for your ears (so i'm told) i've just bought a pair of head phones that cost me £250 i'll probably never need another pair.

Im with the Sennheiser suggestion. Got mine years ago. Been on holiday many times, sea, suntan cream, sand and i use them everyday on the bus or at home or running orrrr walking orrr sitting orrrr erm all the time

There a bit tatty now but still sound awsome and the dont leak any sound out(like those awful ipod ones) or let any sound in.

5/5 from me.

You really get what you pay for, so stretch your budget a bit and it will reap dividends.

Either Shure SE102 (£75) or some Sennheiser's such as the PMX80 (£35), personally I'd go for the Shure.

My sennheisers are good. Well the one that's left... One pulled off the wire when I slid it into my pocket. Probably my fault! Really good headphones though, I've had the 300's and 400's. 300's give awesome bass and useless tops, 400's give less bass but a lot better mid and tops so better all round really. Bought mine for £15 I think, eBay special! Were genuine ones! Seem to be around £25 now though, very strange!

I use the cheap Sony ones. Cost about £7 and last me a year normally, even though I don't take care of them. I've used a few other makes but always found Sony were best, out of the cheaper earphones.

These have to withstand school. I listen to my ipod, then coil them around it and put it in my pocket.

The ones in the picture are skullcandy. I had skullcandy ones and they lasted about two months. It seems that genuine sennheisers are hard to come by lately, i bought some off amazon, which lasted all of two days. £35 down the drain. Felt terrible.

Key word, indestructible
