I have only decided to sell today due to space and 2 other mini's taking up time.

It is a standard 1275 Carb Cooper in standard form with few modifications,Probably the more desirable 90's cooper.
It does run well although I las started it last about a year ago. It ran well and drove fine. I had it off a friend who got divorced.
It was there toy and used at weekends. It now need a recommisioning due to no use. All the uppr body panels are good.

It has not been on the road for 5 years and has been dry stored since. It will need a sill or a patch at the fronT of the sill..
The floors are good.

It and has a tidy interior with wood trim, cd player, inmmobilser and 4 original cibie spotlights fitted as standard on the front.

I really don't know what it is worth in this condition any opinion would be good or any interest in buying either.

What are the inner a panels like? Also, try reaching up inside the front wheelarch, and tap the underneath of the scuttle panel. I have done this before on cars which appear sound, but come away with 2" square chucks of rust and filler in my hands. Also look along the INNER sill near where it needs a patch on the outer sill, to see if the rust has spread there. If the rust is still kept at bay, and the engine WILL start and run, I would pay £800-£1k myself (IF I had the money!) This is what I would pay, and I am sure some people on here would think I am wrong. Purely my opinion.

Ye sthe inner slls are sound. The scuttle is sound too I will check out the underside of the scuttle at the weekend.

Yes it will start, with a good battery , some fuel and a little fiddle.

Appreciate your opinion on the value. Probably worth more in bits then??

You can usually make more in bits than for the whole car, BUT I know if it were my car that I had to strip and cannibilise I simply couldnt do it. That car is too good to break, it should be saved! Also you have to think about what you would do with the shell etc that you wouldnt necessarily be able to sell, and also the amount of your time it would take to totally dismantle the car. Sell it as is, so someone with more time can put her back on the road where she belongs!

I agree with your statements but I could use the engine in my 1275GT and a Genuine cooper shell with little rust , V5 , few owners and low mileage must have a value too??

Or, you could save up a couple of hundred quid tops, get the sill welded, give her a quick once over and some clean fuel then MOT her. She would then be worth maybe £2.8-3k ish? If she is as tidy as you say then they go for that all the time in the magazines. If she is as good as you think she is, then it is an easy and quick project, one to get done first? Then sell her on to buy a new engine if ou wanted it etc? A car with an mot is worth MUCH more than the same one without.

It has been sat gathering dust for 3 years !!
The car is tidy but needs recommisioning as stated. It is a genuine honest car.

My loss could be someone else's gain!!

Yes all 20,000 of them and the one I've owned and loved for 16 years. But I guess most were exported?

Thanks for the feedback.
Thinking of washing it and giving her a rub over and taking it on a trailer to the stoneleigh show in December.
I reckon a genuine car requiring a small amount of TLC might make people take a look?

You could sell it to a dealer, I am "sure" there is one who uses this forum now and again
