i dont think BMW's objective is to follow the history of the mini accurately and please the purists. its objective is to sell their cars to vein idiots (granted not always the case when looking at owners of the bini, but you cant deny a lot of them are complete idiots who only buy it because 'its cool because its a mini') by labelling them with the mini name.I wish BMW would look at the history and make things accordingly. Like the clubman, they should have named it the traveller/countryman as its got a round front end. Same goes for the moke, it was an open topped off road variant. Surely it would have been better for them to put a Vitara esc fold down soft top to try to capture the spirit of the origional moke.
Can't think of anything that size in the 4x4 market other than the smaller suzuki's. If it drives well and performs off road well then maybe it will be a seller. Not too sure on the styling but until I see one in the fleash i'll hold my judgement
