Love it, nice find!!

Another proper Mk3 too :)

Looks pretty original, what's your plans? Incidentally, I think it's Damsk Red? Yours is one of the first rod-change cars.

Thanks Boycie.
That's interesting to know. I'll have to read up on the differences from my more modern minis.
I've already discovered that the drums are not spaced!

It's going to stay original in body shape.
Leaving it on 10's and going to keep away from arches if possible.
Interior? Hmm. Will have to see what I can find.
Anyone got anything cluttering up a garage??? Please...?

You will see on friday, but i do have a full interior. Have a look, its is from a later car though. Totally bog standard.

As I'm working down in Swansea this week for a certain government department it was very easy to pop to the next building along and drop of my V62 and SORN application. Anywhere between 2 to 6 weeks and I should have my V5C. (We hope!!)

Not really. All she said was "Where is that going?".
I may well have to sell a Peugeot. Ho hum.
One of the three minis (the blue one) is hers really anyway.
I'm just using it until I have another mini on the road (this one.)

The flame is still going to be a complete restore.
Then once that it done, we'll do the full thing on this little lady and bring her back to glory.

Spent a couple of hours this morning emptying the car and trying to get the engine to start.
So far, I have won:

- One set of halogen lights on stands on a 13amp plug.
- Two hammers
- Two mobile paint sprayers (I think)
- A pile of tins of thinners, laquers and so on
- Some broken glass
- An old scissor jack

The car refused to start, but does turn over.
At first it was a bit slow, but the engine is now turning smoothly enough.
There is no spark.
However, there is an immobilizer/alarm to remove from the circuit before I think it will turn over properly.
Second to that is that I cannot turn the key in barrel, so will have to work out how to hot wire it!

Here she is!

Lovely

I don't really know why, but when I've 'rescued' a Mini that's been inactive for many years, I've always had to replace the coil. Probably a points/ condensor issue though!

You know, i might just have to kill you :D

I've always loved 70s minis, wanted one for years, but of course cheap ones are either rusty, ringers, or too far away.

Good luck with this, watch your back, or i might just have to nick it

I know what you mean. I feel SO lucky to find her. It's fairly solid although I'm sure the clean up will divulge a whole heap of horrors!

I agree - probably will replace that coil.
Need to ensure that some juice is getting to the LT side first though!!
