Hi everyone, I'm new to mini's but my wife has owed a few. When we were courting many years ago I helped her buy a brand new Mini 35... well after having a random search on ebay, I found the very same car for sale on ebay :( . My wife will be 40 in January and I remember her selling it to Miniman after owning it for 2 years, she was very upset as she adored the car. She hasn't owned one since, but always had a soft spot for them.

Anyway, here's is a link to the car.

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...mMakeTrack=true

Is it worth what they are asking if it's in the condition they are saying, I thought it would be a nice present for her 40th... her old mini back?

Anyone able to help? I'm a bit suspicious as they say owed by an old lady from new..... when we know it wasn't!!! :(

Thanks

Dean.

Seems a fair enough price to me although it doesnt look in as good a condition as described.

Looks tidy, could do with some better close up pics.

If its as good as it looks then its £2000-£2200 car at the most.

I wouldn't pay what he's asking

i have a 35 in the same colour as that one. i bought it almost 2 years ago in pretty much the same condition for £1500 with a years mot needed no welding doing or any engine work, and still doesnt :(

having said that, theyre getting increasingly rare and a good unmolested model as that one appears to be are very hard to find so are worth there weight in gold

definitely worth a view!

Thanks for the input, just sorted out some old photo's I took the day she picked it up and yes this is exactly the same car. The only difference being:

It has a straight through exhaust.
The alloys look the same, but description says not original.
It has has Miniman badges and registration plates put on it.

The plan would be to keep it this time......

decisions decisions.... :( :(

If i was you, £2500 - £3000. Especially worth paying a bit etc to make sure you deffinetly get it. Only problem is the owner history....

He/she is probably passing on some saleman's BS about the old biddy.

I'm more concerned about this statement:-

WE BOUGHT HER IN FEBRUARY FROM A GUY WHO HAD BOUGHT HER FOR HIS SON WOULD NOT DRIVE HER BECAUSE OF THE COLOUR

Stupid kid

Sounds like a good gift idea, i'm sure i'd be grateful if it was me, might pay to have a word with the chap selling the car, tell him you owned the car, and see if he can be persuaded. Do you have any paperwork to prove it? just in case the chap tries to squirm his way out of it.

Just checked where we keep old documents and we don't appear to have any paperwork to prove it... but I do have some old photo's which clearly show the registration plate.

Thanks to everyone for all your help. Unfortunately I had that dreaded email to say the listing is being pulled due to a change of heart... I think I must have come across as too keen and the seller doesn't really want to sell it.

Not to worry.

I will still hang around the forum as it seems you have a lot of decent projects on the go... project cars are always a good read.

Thanks
