hi sorry i keep asking questions but my mini has 93000 miles and im not sure when it had a cambelt change so want to replace it. where could i get a belt from (online) and how long is it to replace and is it easy access? ;) thanks

Minis run a timing chain, not cam belts.

They are bomb proof.

This is the classic mini we are talking about?

yarp it is an original dont the chains wear out after a while? or get streched?

They do strech over time and throw the timing out, which if it was running poorly would be a sign.
How long they last depends on how the car is driven and maintained.
Changing one in car is a pig of a job, you would have to remove the radiator and the crank damper at least to do it, and then re time the cam shaft.

about 3-4 hours in the car job, but if it dont rattle dont worry

Compared to changing a cambelt on most modern 'euroboxes' a timing chain on a Mini is a 'walk in the park'.

But - I have heard of the chain breaking - so if it's REALLY rattling - I suggest you investigate/renew it before it all goes horribly wrong!

If you do renew it, fit a duplex gearset. Thats a twinrow chain and gearset, so resists stretch and wear better.
