Got home from holiday and had this waiting for me. New it wasnt the main cover car which I was a bit disappointed about but if you go back through the last 2 years of Miniworld every front cover car is a Mk1 or Mk2 or Cooper or S so wasnt really surprised. First feature in the mag though and I'm pleased with it.P_20151014_160321_zpsc8q8ib13.jpg

Hi,

Really enjoyed the article and so did my son (who would really like me to put an R1 in our clubman!). Sometimes get a bit bored with another concours Mk1. Also miss the old Bill Solis articles when he tended to drive cars and comment on that aspect!!

Was a bit confused that the article said you had no reverse gear and a poor turning circle?? I thought that the reverse gear was one of the advantages of the Pro-motive over the Lynx?

Fab car whatever though.

Thanks very much for the comments.

I remember the old features too.

Mine was one of the earlier kits before they brought out the reverse unit. Could have retro fitted it but to be honest i don't use the car enough for it to be a problem.
As for the turning circle it's not the best being low and wide but to be fair it's miles better than the Evo - that has by far the worst turning circle. Great for driving not so much for manoeuvring!

Fitted some Dynamat over the weekend. Not a huge amount but just concentrating on the doors, foot wells and bulkhead.
Still loud but I also have some much better ear plugs now. Girlfriend took a few videos during our little blast around town.

Picked up a used Contour +2 so had a brief try with that over the weekend. Nice little camera with some good functions. Needs external Mic as the built-in one is known for being poor. Filmed in 720, not tried it in 1080p yet so will be interesting to compare. This is YouTube compressed so the original is much better, very sharp and detailed.

Looking and sounding sweet mate, top work. Question, how's the torque steer? It actually looks very smooth, mine's not! What diff you running?

Cheers,

Al

Got quaife lsd on it but it still squirms and heads for oncoming traffic under hard accerlation and bumpy roads. Although it's reigned in much better compared to the standard diff that's for sure
Can't quite see it on the video but there's a fair bit of steering wheel correction going on!
