Exhaust all fitted - haven't been able to check it for leaks as the engine refuses to start. Not touched anything since the last time and been cranking it over all day. battery needs another charge now.

fitted new clutch master cylinder and bled system without any problems this time.

adjusted rear brakes and handbrake.

need to sort the camber on the rear wheels - running more negative camber than the front so the brackets on the beam frame will need adjusting until i can take it for a full suspension set-up and wheel alignment.

back home for xmas so a chance to finish off the last few bits.

main thing is to get the car running again and hopefully driven out from the garage.

in the mean time i have been tackling the headlining yet again and made up a cover plate out of carbon.

Engine running nicely again today although I really need to try some different maps. Idles ok until it starts to warm up then sits around 3000rpm.
Does anyone know what temp the rad fan should cut in? Ran mine up to almost 100 degrees but it didn't cut in. I would have expected to see it on around 90-95 before it gets too hot.
Was also thinking of fitting an expansion tank. Anyone else done this?

Found a nice custom made aluminium expansion tank that's just the right size to squeeze in beside the servo so going to give that a go.
Ordered a new joiner for the exhaust as mine is blowing and some new indicator LEDs as the originals have succumbed to damp ingres.

Think I have sorted the high idle speed although i ran out of time to test it as the battery needed a charge. After checking spark plug gaps, throttle cable, new PC map, cooling system and idle adjuster I stripped down the fast idle unit to find one of the pipes completely clogged with gunk. All cleaned through now so this should resolve the issue

FYI think my 5PW fan cuts in at around 104°C. I have an override switch wired in on mine which I flick on when it gets to 90°C. I was thinking of an expansion tank but so far it has not needed it. I have a big ally side mount radiator with a cowl on the inside which I have mounted the fan to & as I say when giving it full beans I leave the electric fan on and it sits at around 95°C ish +/- 5°C. I have a 13row oil cooler too which will help - might be something to consider?

Yeh that's a good idea with the override switch as 104 is too high in my opinion. Better to cut it in earlier so it has a chance to reduce the temps.

Engine runs sweet now. It was the clogged fast idle unit causing the problem. Changed the map and adjusted the idle and sits steady at 1100rpm.

Fitted the expansion tank for the radiator, only a small one but tucks in the corner nicely against the bulkhead.

Tomorrow i need to fit the link pipe for the exhaust and fit the switch to manually override the radiator fan.

I was planning to yesterday but it appears the radiator is faulty and water is seeping out into the base creating loads of steam.
That's a bit frustrating as it's the one that came with the kit so I will need to send that back

Fast idle unit stripped down.

Radiator expansion tank from RatSport. Nicely made and fits where i want it. Only small tank but its better than losing coolant.

Got the radiator back - lower outlet pipe was all squashed so not particularly impressed but managed to reshape it back and although nothing appears to have been done with the radiator ive had it running today with no leaks and no steam billowing out so happy that its all working as it should be.

tomorrow i should have the fan switch done and hopefully see if i can get the thing up and down the road

No joy from engine today. Started second go yesterday after charging battery.
But today it just refused to start. Gave battery a boost to full but still not starting. Weird - nothing changed from yesterday but checked all obvious things anyway. Given up for now

Engine is up and running again.
Going on to the rad fan can anyone confirm this is wired up correctly.

Green wire (promo loom) from fan relay going to position 1 on Mini fuse box.
Green/purple wire (promo loom) from fan relay to blue positive on the fan itself.
Black then to earth

I ask because a) I can't run it up to 105 degrees as coolant starts coming out the overflow at 100 and b) I've wired in a manual switch for the fan motor but that's not working,
1 Positive connection from fuse position 2 on Mini fuse box.
2 Earth
3 Tapped the other connection from the switch into the green/yellow to the fan relay
