hopefully after xams i would have collected enough parts and its 16v time

armed with the laptop and a long stretch of road today i played with the megajolt map and after a few hours i think i got it as good as possible with out a rolling road, which means when it does go on the rollers they should not have many changes to make. but for now its running brilliantly and pulls like a train from 1.5k rpm right up to the 6k rpm limiter

Mini went to its first show yesterday -


Had some real positive comments which has inspired me to actually finish it

3 weeks after the mini being stolen and recovered its back on the road, the longest thing to fix was the dash, after repairing it and prepping ready for paint no matter what I did the primer reacted with the gel coat, in the end I decided to point it satin black instead ...






I think I actually prefer it black

Wheels now stripped of the rubbish mws lacquer and sprayed satin black

After a very long time it's time for a update that's not engine related so thought I'd drag this thread back up...

The mini needs a new rear subframe so today I finished painting a new frame. In total it's had -

Stripped
treated with metal ready
Painted with POR15
few coats of stone chip
Primed
Top coat


now it looks like this

nice mini, love the colour as well, its similair colour to what we are doing with ours, what actual colour is it?

Thanks, doesn't have a colour code or name as I had it mixed as a one off.

Few pics from today's progress, as it stands at the end of play the only thing left to do is to bleed the brakes.

Treated the mini to both front and back handbrake cables, uprated bushes (as pictured) and works exhaust hangers.

These days a good 80% of my driving is at night so I bought some new headlights. Apparently the new style wipacs which have the clear lense and the reflector is shaped to give the beam pattern so I thought I'd give them a go.

I'm not a huge fan of how they look but if they give even a few % more light their worth it
