ive decided to remove the yamaha r1 fuel pump and replace it with a comp spec facet ss503 pump as im sure many of you are running
previously i had the yamaha pump mounted on top of the r1 engine but now im thinking where is the best place for the new pump?
any pics/ suggestions ?
in the boot ? or still ok in the engine bay?

I'm running a Bosch injection pump mounted ion the rear subframe - thought the R1 pump was too awquard to work with.

I have a facet fuel pump mounted in the boot just above the tank.

yer, i had mine in the boot, back of the seat at 45 degrees

So lets see if this is right . I've chosen my location for the pump and got it at about 45degrees to eliminate vapour lock . Now I have a couple of questions:
1) the loom was modded by Promotive so do I just extend the grey pump trigger wire coming from the pump relay to the new pump and must this be fused aswell ?
2) does anyone have a cut off feature fitted or are they just using the ignition powered relay from the modded Promotive loom to cut the pump for safety if the engine stalls ?

All things equal, you'll want to put your high pressure pump as close to the tank as possible - these types of pumps do WAY better pushing, rather than pulling, fuel... I'd also suggest placing it at aroudn teh bottom of the tank level or even lower if possible, as the pump won't have to fight gravity once it's primed (siphon effect)

Ok just checked and my fuel line from the tnk is 5/16 . The pump and filter I have are 1/4 so which do I change as I don't want any issues . Any advice ?
