Mini Cooper 1991

I have bought a repair kit from mini spares as I was having trouble bleeding the slave cylinder I then found the seals were shot , I was wondering if Anyone who has reassembeld the slave cylinder could provide me with a bit of guidence and tell me how to repair it and possibly provide me with a diagram please

also it has a metro slave cylinder which is standard for 91 as far as I know

thanks any help greatly appreciated.

It's simple - 5 minute job - just expel the old seal cup, and push in the new one! Then bleed the clutch through.

I hooked mine out with a pair of pliers. Just nab and pull. Or just buy a new slave. Think they cost £10~15 if you want the job done now,

Pump the pedal to expel the piston. You'll see there's nothing to it.

To be honest for the cost of a new one I'd do that rather than mess with seal kits!!

The seal on the verto cylinder fits into a groove in the piston, just like a brake cylinder, the sequence: Remove cyl from bracket, remove dust cover from end of cyl, carefully pump out piston from bore, remove piston & spring, clean everything, remove old seal from piston, fit new with tapered out side facing in towards the spring side, replace spring, carefully ease piston & new seal into bore (use fluid or rubber grease to lubricate), fit dust cover & re-assemble on to mounting bracket. Sorry forgot circlip in end of cylider which must be removed first & re-fitted after assembly!
