Hello
I in the process of restoring my m reg (1992) rover cooper spi , and am looking to get some paint ,the code on the inner wing says paint .. RWU with trim being PMA . I cannot find this code in the forum paint code listings .
All my local paint suppliers would tell me is that it is a two tone code ,the car has a white roof and red body RW ?? but i would like to know the exact code for the red .
I will be getting some mixed and put in aerosols for now , then when the weather gets warmer !!! i may do a full respray obviously with canned paint and my gravity fed spray gun .
Halfords mix up paint and the stock paint has been a perfect match for my white mini so i am going to try them for a mix .
Thanks in advance

If it says rwu under 'paint' on the plate then give that code to any good paint supplier and they will mix it to that code, and it will be the exact match.
But if its not a full respray your doing (or its not had a recent respray) then you will be best either taking the car to the paint suppliers or a panel with the colour on and get them to match it to the panel/car, because paint fades over time.
Paul.

Give this site a try. Just been looking for a paint code for the mother in laws car.
http://www.paints4u....?ProductID=5021
As Pauly said though, any good paint shop will be able to use the same system to find the code /match the paint.
Just noticed your in Lancashire. Where abouts, I can give you the details of the place I have been using if it's not too far. Very helpful guys.

Just as a note for you.
Some manufacturers used dual codes to cover their cars, in the case of the Minis, Rover issued such codes that when decoded give you the 2 colours that make up your car.
RWU is a dual code that splits out into
COF - Plain Red,
and NND - White Diamond.
If you find that the paint codes can not be found by paint suppliers, ask them to check for dual codes.
cheers
