I was trying to get the car painted Tweed Grey (GR4), but the paintshop was having difficulty finding it. In the end I went through hundreds of swatches to find this colour, which is actually a Suzuki colour. The Suzuki code is OFR for the grey, and OF5 for the black roof. The paint was supplied by Spies Hecker and their codes are as follows: 70584 (grey), and 75169 (black).
"I hope the decibel insert wont rob you of any power, will you be taking it to the rolling road ??"
The dB killer will undoubtably rob power, which is why I opted for something which is removable/temporary for use only when absolutely necessary. I will probably need to stick it on the rollers when I get my stage III dynojet kit fitted.

Stage 3???
Have you had engine mods??
My engine came jetted to 160bhp. And the same jet kit turned up with my z-cars goodies, so I'll have a spare one if anyone needs it in the future?

If it is just an air filter and exhaust it will be a stage 1 jetting kit not stage 3
Nope, definitiely got a stage 3 dynojet kit as recommended by dynojet UK due to bespoke airbox. Had to wait ages for it to come in from the US, and when it arrived there were no instructions. It seems everyone else who has ever ordered a stage 3 kit knows what they are doing! After I complained about the lack of instructions, and the huge wait for the kit, Dynojet offered to set my engine up for me. Problem is, they didn't have a rolling road capable of accepting a car at the time I spoke to them (about 12 months ago!), but they did say they were investigating the possibilities of getting one, and that I should contact them nearer the time of completion.
With any luck they'll be able to fathom out where all the petrol is going. I'm worried it's running far too rich at the moment- could be dangerous for the bores.
Bye for now

Any sign of a break in the ice age we are currently experiencing would be helpfull too!

After bleeding the best part of 3 litres of brake fluid through the system, and still having the brake pedal go right to the floor, I started to get the feeling something wasn't right.
Now, this may be a completely obvious thing to most people, but it took a while for dumb-ass here to realise that of the 3 bleed nipples on metro calipers, one of them should be at the top to let the air out- not the bottom! It turns out I had my calipers on the wrong wheels i.e they needed switching left to right, and vice versa.
To cut a (very) long story short as soon as I swapped the calipers over and gave them a quick bleed I instantly had brakes, so to anyone else out there who is thinking of fitting metro calipers, make sure you mount them with the bleed nipple uppermost!
If I never have brake fluid dripping off my elbows again it'll be too soon.

Anyone got any tips on fitting the windscreen? Trim strip in first, or last?
Bye for now
