Big hello to everyone I met at Stafford- the show was just what I needed to get me back into action, and seeing Pete's and Ade's cars in the flesh for the first time (both of which were awesome) has really got me itching to finish mine off. Those two green machines are testimony to the enthusiasm and talent which Pete and Ade share, and if my car ends up being anything like as good as theirs, I'll be stoked. Anyway, enough of that- I'm sure they had their ego's stroked enough at the show
Been out of action for a while after having surgery to repair my hernia (which I got lifting the engine into the car the first time!!), but that was 3 weeks ago, and it's more or less bearable now, so it's time to crack-on...
Here's an update....
Brake, and clutch hoses now all plumbed in- thanks again Mark.
Fan sender unit fitted into upper rad hose.
Temp' sender fitted into upper rad hose (near engine).
RH bulkhead panel fitted, and header tank bolted on and plumbed in.
Steering column and wheel fitted.
A few other minor bits done (number plates, door handles etc) mainly to put off the inevitable wiring harness job.
I finally sat down with the manual this weekend to start stripping out the bits of the harness which I don't need. It turns out I have a harness from a fuel injected mini, which means there's a hell of a lot of wires, and it's a bit of a laborious task which I'll tackle bit by bit. All I really need from the mini loom is the wiring for the lights, horn, indicators, and wipers/washer motor, so it should be fairly straight forward. Mmmmmmmm......
Off to do some more...
Bye for now.

Would love to upload images, but it would appear this sites gone all weird when it comes to attaching files to replies.
Anyone got any ideas how I can upload images? What's changed if anything? Why?- it was better before!!!!

I filled it with coolant, stuck some fuel in, pushed the start button, and a couple of revolutions later it burst into life. I got it nice and hot, to adjust the trigger point for the fan, and then noticed an almighty fuel leak onto the hot crank case. After a few expletives, and an adjustment to the high pressure coupling into the fuel pressure regulator the buzz wagon was purring nicely once again!
It's seriously bloody LOUD though. After any amount of time behind the wheel I reckon most attempts at conversation thereafter will be mainly met with the response "Eh?"!
Just one water leak- where the metal water hose coming from the thermostat housing enters the cylinder head. Got a couple of new O-rings today, so that should fix the problem.
I've got all the gauges in and working, except the oil pressure gauge. Does anyone know what size thread the oil gallery blanking screw is? - It's the one just above the exhaust manifold on the front right hand side of the cylinder head. That's where I'm planning on taking my feed for the capillary and sender.
Also, it wasn't until I filled the coolant system with water that I found a coolant hose I didn't know I had! Up until this point I thought it was a breather hose of some description, as it only has a bore of about 7mm. When I traced the hose back from the end that was p*ssing water out everywhere I found it terminated at the same (ish) outlet that the main bottom hose comes from. I can't find any reference to this hose anywhere, so I need help again! Can I simply blank it off? (which is what I've done so far), or does it need to be spliced into the system somewhere?
I've still got loads to do:
Bleed brakes and clutch ;wire lights/indicators/horn/wipers etc in; make brackets and fit dash properly; fit windscreen (deep joy!); buy and fit perspex glazing; fettle and trim bulkhead/airbox/parceltray; fit doors; fit door mirrors; make, trim, and fit door cards; fit seats; start begging, rob bank, or become an MP; The list goes on..........
Target is now mid May for (sort of) completion.
Bye for now

Glad to see you have got it running, i was beginning to get a bit worried about you!!
Is this the bolt you are talking about for the oil pressure fitting???
That small hose from the bottom hose is just for bleeding air out of the system, you can blank it off with a long bolt!
Will you be going to Shakespeare this year??
Cheers
