The exhaust was custom made by The Carbon Can Company in Fleetwood, and as the name suggests it's a carbon can (but they make exhausts out of stainless, titanium etc as well). Fortunately I was able to use a standard sleeve length, with custom entry and exit pipes in 60mm bore. I've yet to hear it under load at 11,000 rpm, but it won't be long....

There are some pictures of the can on a previous page of this thread.

Bye for now.

The exhaust can was £222.50 including VAT.

Finally got the doors fitted and am less than happy with the panel gaps, particularly between the leading edge of the doors and the A-panels. Should have checked this, but never mind it's just another thing to go on the "to do eventually" list.

Miniboo- click the link for a photo of the work around the lower A-post showing how the removeable front end was done...

Lower A-post

Hope that helps.

Also here's one of the nearly complete car!!!!.....

Nearly done- still got film on windows!

Also went for a bit of a longer "drive" today just to get the brakes cleaned up and working a bit better- it felt good :xxx: but it's going to take some getting used to!!!! I thought the engine was about to throw a rod until I noticed it was "only" doing 6,500 rpm. It's weird holding out longer than that before a gear change.

the a panel attachment looks very neat. was thinking of something along those lines.

The doors seem very far back in that pic or were they not fully bolted up there?

Doors were fully bolted up, and fit fine to the rest of the shell. You just need to engineer more of an overlap of the A-panel than I did!! The problem is with the front end, it fits fine around the scuttle but comes up short next to the doors. I'm going to make some more A-panels eventually- either that or fit a carbon fibre front end!

Ah right i see.

puts me off including the A panels now!!

Although i guess i could just cut off up to that point and leave that extra overhang bit on.

will have to decide when i finally pluck up the courage to take it off the road and chop the front off!!

Thanks for your answer to my questions regarding the custom can . . .but do you reckon it would be possible for you to post up some pics of the dash as I can't wait to see it, preferably taken from the drivers seat ?

Cheers
Dan
