cheers mate that was what i was after, a change and something different, plus wanted it to be cheaper than vtec/r1, so i picked up the 74 shell for £100 and the donner car for £300 (needed new clutch) and at the moment including vehicles i'm into it for about £500-£600 quid so working out quite cheep at the moment, but i do have almost all the tools that could be needed or access to them either through my Dad builder/plumber or my uncle own's 2 garages, and i work in an engineering workshop

YEah gaz ure doing pretty well on keeping it cheap at the moment hopefully you can keep it this way for the majority of the project. once the engines in and the front is repaired and fitted and stuff you shouldnt have too many expensive outlays. looking forward to the day when both our minis are ready!!

Essex is ok but i need to get started on the mini really, i dont think that there is any chance of the mini being ready for santapod but if there is a spare seat going then im there mate, mite even bring the dragster if it is working!!! lol.
I got a few big expenditures coming my way, paint, engine, wheels. but you know me very picky and i will probably find something else i want and then something else....lol. I'm back this weekend so ill give ya a knock.

Anyway soz to muck up ya thread lol. good luck with the project! Andy G

been lacking in reply and progress really, due to spraying myself in the face with moulten metal from a gas axe at work, and ending up with a piece of metal in my eye, but all healed up now so some progress has happened, not much but started to de gutter the shell and working out how and where i've gotta put tubes and plates to mount the engine and drive train, still slowly doing the paint work, just body prep is the most enjoyable work so it takes some time for me to do

right havent posted for ages but there has been a major shift in the plans for the gti, its gonna loose its floor!!!!

i'm gonna build a new flat floor out of 25x50 box section and ally skin it, this will lower the body down by approximatly 3 inches, then its being built more to rally spec than road spec for now, i know that this will probably result it in being Q plated, but hay its what i want out of the car so its gotta be done

been drawing up scale plans this week will post scanned images soon of the drawings

but i've now be asked by my old man to start another project for him!!!!!!

he wants a suzuki sj/samuri with a mini body shell!!!!!!!!!!

crazy old fool :D

Holy Cr*p! When did ya make this decision, Gary? It wasn't that long ago that I spoke to ya and you never mentioned this, so it must be a pretty recent decision.

Despite the size of the task, I know how competent you are, so I won't act worried.
