I got nearly blinded the other night by some   with wonky headlights but as the mini mirror is fixed could only move it down.

Is there a 'dipping' rear view center mirror made I can fit to my car or do I have to go for an aftermarket one or one from another car??

Edit: the only one I can find is this but it is hell expensive!

I hope that price isn't really. Anyway the cheapest would probably be from another car, so have a butchers around a scrappy and also get some new sticky pads. I think the newer metros/rover 100 mirrors aren't far off what you would probably want.

I once bought an after market universal suction cup dipping mirror. It was useless because the car vibrated so much. I swapped that for a pretty looking chrome mirror that fixes to the roof like the original but that's just as bad.

I love my Mrs' Mini with it's lovely standard mirror! Doesn't wobble at all!

Didn't the late MPi's have dipping mirrors? Although on second thoughts don't they have special windscreens?

Of course there were original dippable mirrors. I have one of them in my car :P Some LEs got them. And MPIs (but glued to the screen) and Innocentis.

[edit] No special MPI screens...

Have a search through some autojumbles, or ebay or something, i have a dipping mirror it's standard mini fitment too with the usual bracket and suction pad, absolutely no idea which models did or didn't have them though.

I've got a chrome interior mirror from mini spares. Its mounted to the roof like normal and just adjusts on a ball joint. When im getting blinded it only takes a second to reach up and 'dip' it by hand.

Cheers guys. I'll have to look for something at a scrappy to see what I can use. I'm constantly looking at other cars at the moment to see if there is anything that matches what I need, I've got a couple of other ideas as well , but haven't seen anything yet. Might have to go for a walk through the supermarket car park (might look a bit dodgy though  )

Would This one fit do you think? The mounting base looks similar.

for the price it is at now it is worth a try.
if you can find one with sucker pad and screw fixing it would probably be a better option

Jamez26 - Yeah I saw that one too but again I thought it was too expensive, plus it only has a stick pad so I wasn't sure about it. I'm thinking maybe I can get one from another car and use the base from the mini mirror and put them together somehow, maybe welded together?
