quick update, just been up the road, jesus how quick, was hoping it went well but way faster than i thought it would be, getting a lot of whine from engine gearbox when driving, dont know if this is how they all are as not been in another r1 mini, anyway looking forward to putting a few miles on it.
the whine is probably from the differential and chain - it's normal...they are quick arn't they

I've been in a few R1 minis and they don't whine, I would bet that it's the internal gearing to change direction in the transfer gearbox

martins correct a certain amount of whine from the transmission is normal. This would be partly from the chain but a lot to do with the fact that the R1 gearbox is straight cut. The diff uses a standard helical cut crown wheel and pinion. I'd say you've got nothing to worry about there (just listen to a bike when it over takes you, they make the same noise) but any concerns feel free to give me a ring.

Think the Pro-mo guys have sorted reverse out now though for the new kits?

We haven't yet put details on the website as we are currently in negotiations with the supplier so we can do them as a standard fit to every kit.
Basically it's gear driven, no electric motors! It gives you the use of 6 forward and 6 reverse gears. They are Very compact Units and designed to fit our existing kits so anyone who has already got a kit can easily fit 1.
Hopefully we will be able to give full details on the website very soon, so watch this space.
