Ive finally finished off the bodywork!! J its taken me just over a year which I don’t think is so bad!
Ive ground down and trimmed the rear ¼ on the drivers side
and test fitted the window which went in fine
so I clamped on the inner waist rail
and welded it on
then ground it all down and painted it
and heres a comparison from before J
then I refitted the window later
I also rubbed down the surface rust round the rear screen
And painted it
Primed inside the rear bins
And then painted in there too
And lastly primed the doorstep
And painted that too
Next I have done some rubbing down of filler on the rear quarter
Bit more filler and some primer
And painted up
Its not perfect by any way but its protected at least enough to get her back on the road and until I can afford an air compressor and more tools to teach myself to prep and respray better J, most likely sometime towards the end of summer.
That’s all for today tho, ive done lots of little things too but haven’t taken pictures of everything. Hope you like this update. Next work will be on the doors to get them built up and watertight and also fitting the last 2 screens in. Feel free to comment

Fitted new balljoint covers as mine were knackered
Fitted some new top engine steady bushes as mine were again knackered so its all good now
Fitted my awesome auto dipping rear view mirror!
Bought some lovely suede seats
better than buckets!!
And fitted, so so comfy, reclinable and the drivers side is variable height, plus i can get people in the back now!
Made a new headlining and wrapped the roof console too, its looking proper swish now!
Also covered the door cards with the same material as the roof
And here's some pictures with my surfboard on the roof
So that's up to date pretty much, I've also refitted the exhaust and sealed it as well as i can, still a bit noisy now tho , also put lots of parts back in her and got her running sweetly and starting first time (treated her to a new battery too!) got to get a new waterpump and gasket and brake switch and then its all ready for the mot! :) hope you like these late updates! Before
After
I've also bought all the last parts for her before the mot (waterpump , seam trim and switches etc)
Also played with all my waxoyl
Then i had a big old problem trying to start her the starter motor was turning over really slowly and i couldn't work out why, even took the starter motor apart to see if it was the bushes in there
but it wasn't, here was the problem
Part of the waterpump was fouling on the fan bolts so i had to shave it down slightly to allow it to turn, the starting problem was that the waterpump was resisting the starter motor but its all fixed now, mot will.be booked.sometime this week,
Hope.you like this.little.update

Fails were
>inner cv gaitor loose
>starter cable from battery too close to exhaust
>crack in front subframe
So as you can see nice and easy stuff to fix, I've.fixed the first two already with cable ties.and welded up the crack when i got home :)
And here is a video of the journey, looks a.bit.bouncy
So her retest is booked in for next monday and the insurance is coming on too then so monday should be a good day! :)
