Im building a fibreglass Mini Sprint and my understanding of the rules were that unless you use a heritage metal shell to reshell your mini then you have to go for an SVA.
So that is my plan. Build up my mini as an amature build and get it IVAed.

note it says "from the manufacturer" ie rover
chassis or body shell (body and chassis as one unit - monocoque ie direct replacement from the manufacturer) (original or new) = 5 points

OK, so I have been chatting with the chaps on the PPC forum, it would need an IVA, so it turns out that it would not really be cheaper to get a carbon/fibreglass shell.
£3990 for a heritage shell
£2200 for the FG
£820 for the multipoint cage
£550 for the IVA test
So cost does not really come in to it. (Unless I could find a second hand one)
Its more down to weight and anti-rust!
How much does a standard mini weigh and how much does a fibreglass mini weigh?

fibreglass shells dont weight any less than a steel shell, due to them having the be thicker in some areas to make them strong enough
having made several differant types all weigh roughly the same unless is a light weight race shell
