Bad news mate, i hope your getting your money back or atleast a new paint job on the house!

Unfortunately not! As I supplied the paint to them and it was apparently the paint that was the problem.

And I cant afford to have it in for another respray so im going to give rollering a go with some Rustoleum.

In that case get onto the paint supplier!

is it the paint that hasnt bonded to the primer, or the primer that hasnt bonded to the mini ?

soul destroying I know, but better you found out now than once all the graphics were on - but just think though how good its going to look once its all done.

I've done the check-ups on what I need to do with the graphics and I'm going to do a full new set, with different base material and a new type of gloss seal from a company called hexis.

they use a special glue that allows for easier fitment and minimal air traps, and the gloss seal is alleged to be almost indesttructible.

it will look good once its done, but I reckon it might be better to bide your time and get much, much better spray paint done - 2 pack preferablly.

It was 2k, but there may be some good news. We went up today and had a proper look at the paint and the rest of the car is fine, The area that has peeled away is in such a way that it looks like something has been spilled down the rear quarter prior to paint. So it could just be a case of rubbing back the rear quarter, re-priming and then a touch up job.

Done a little bit today:

Covered the car in stickers and ripped them all back off to see if any other paint was affected, which thankfully it wasn't

Located the source of the problem with the paint and stripped it right back and cleaned it up ready for primer tommorow, Should be painted this weekend.

Wired in the amp

Covered the 2 sides of centre console in cream leather, Should get around to the centre parts tommorow once I've tweaked the holes a little.

All primered- Going to paint it tommorow after work.

Jobs left before MOT:

-Re-wire rear lights so that all 3 lenses are in use(Breaklight and rear lights are on the same lense at the minute)
- Raise rear end so I can actually drive it in and out of the garage/over speedbumps
-Wire up doors(hopefully next saturday)
-Fit new fuel tank

Then it Should be ready for the MOT.
