Sounds like hydraulic failure. That'll be master cylinder, slave cylinder of clutch fluid hose or fluid level in the master cylinder.

Check the clutch slave cylinder (on top of the clutch housing, left hand side of the engine looking from the front of the car) for fluid leaking in case the seals inside it have failed. It could also be the clutch master cylinder.

Think its clutch slave cylinder (think thats what its called) its on top of the cluch housing just felt around it leaking at the end feels like a rubber seal, are these easy to fix?

Just buy a new slave cylinder. It's 2 bolts to change it, then bleed it out with new brake fluid.

When you push the pedal down, does it come back up when you release your foot at all ?

Yes - you can get a seal kit - easy to install. Meantime - try topping up the master cylinder - and bleed it through - it may just keep you going for a day or two until the seal kit arrives!

Min-its are really close to you and a complete slave cylinder wont cost an arm and a leg.

Seal kit - roadside job (yes, I have done it there!) about 10 minutes! Plus whatever time to re-bleed the system.

Oh dear - top up the master with DOT 3 (or 4) - mate holds down the clutch - you open/close the nipple. Mate releases pedal - then repeat a few times until no more air comes out. Try to catch the fluid in a cloth - it strips paint!
