Ok guys.....I saw a pic of a Mini that was tubbed in the rear but I didn't see anyplace where shocks (or coilovers) would mount, at least where they usually do with stock rear wheel wells. Here's the pic...
So, does this guy have some kind of special rear subby? Can you do this to a Mini and run coilovers on a stock rear subframe yet mount them differently? I am lost....this pic threw me for a loop! My rear wheel wells are in need of replacement but after seeing this pic I LOVE how clean it looks and how much room it gives for wider wheels. BUT I want to run coilovers.....and I don't have the cash for one of these subframes.
Can anyone help me figure this out or possibly someone has a similar setup and can post better pics of how the shocks/coilovers are mounted?

you build new turrets and mount them to the desired height as part of the 'tubbing' process.
last pic shows brace bar we were considering but you probably wont need this.
the turret inserts and welds into place where you can see the gap in the rear inner arch.
