Trialled the new paint i bought from Ketts to see if it reacts with any of the other stuff i have been using and so far all is good so at least that's another worry out of the way. Made a bit of a blunder with the Upol filler primer, i thought it came in one colour Grey so i assumed that with the one i picked it up but it's bloody beige. Bugger so will now have to buy another tin as i want the interior paint to be a good match with the external paintwork.
Started the flatting process and so far its come up well. I've used 2000 wet and dry with lots of soapy water then G3 paste, Perfect III and finally 3M Polish Rosa.
Doing it by hand is hard work so one rear quarter took just over an hour, not sure if i want to keep doing that so may have to invest in a mop.

All the exit holes for the paint were masked up as over spray wouldn't look to good on the outside .A few bits where left out to gain access.
Filler primer was used first to try and get the best finish possible even though most of it will be hidden.
The some of the tartan red paint applied. The inside of the car was like a fume cupboard
Alot of the areas still need going over again or flatting back.In the places where you will not see we are just going to use some mazda classic red as its alot cheaper per can and it is nearly the same colour

Hopefully tomorrow the rest of the interior should be finished and then the damaged stone chip can be fixed along with repainting where we had painted in the arches as a the spray shop they had over sprayed some areas.

As the body shop managed to dent the sill it had to be hammered out. This cracked the stone chip so that had to be redone in areas but just as before when the whole underside was sprayed the dam stuff reacted so after applying some filler to act as a barrier and then stone chipping over it has worked out perfect and you can't see where the damage was now .
Just the roof seam to sort out now and then the subframes can go on and this project might actually get back on its wheels Tomorrow/Saturday my dad will be finishing paddy's sill/flitch out so that ERM can go back to his side of the garage to receive his rebuild
