Good work as always. I really like those fresh air vent panels you've made. They look really smart. :)

Well Erm is no longer on the spit and is back on a set of wheels although not his real ones.

Also found a couple of jokers sitting in him

Hopefully next week i can fit the bonnet and then gap that, its a pretty crap fit so a fair bit of work will be needed. Then refit the doors after sanding and then sort out the final bits and pieces before he's gets his new coat of paint.

Cheers jagman although your will be the ultimate rust free shell by the time you are finished. I have posted a picture of the inner sill stiffener on your thread

Neither can we, Scott has hinted he would like Erm in paint by his 18th birthday which is the beginning of March. We shall see. :)

Today was fit the bonnet time and that turned into a bit of a pain in the backside. Brand spanking new bonnet and the hinge mounts were about 1/2" out resulting in a large gap at the back of the bonnet
Posted Image

So it was time to extend this so we could slot the holes further without falling off the edge
Posted Image
New section tacked in place on both hinge points
Posted Image
Fully welded and cleaned up
Posted Image
Bonnet back on
Posted Image
And the gap is much better but some more tweaking needed to get it spot on. Next job though is the gap between the bonnet edge and front panel. Lots of cutting and shutting to do.

The chap who is going to paint Erm is coming to give him the once over this weekend so i'm hoping i can off load some of the prep work onto him, we shall see!!

Well i feel like i have gone back a year to when i was repairing the rear panel, had spent the day treating and re oiling our kitchen worktops so finished that and i thought i would do some final filling around the back of the car.

Anyway for what ever reason i had missed this
Posted Image
Bugger so it had to go a bit like this
Posted Image
And then by the miracles of modern science it ended up like this
Posted Image

Happy days, its now been skimmed with filler so it will get rubbed down tomorrow.

How do you cut such delicate small holes like in that last repair?
