Our British open classic isnt 100% original

when we got it last year it had pepper pot alloys, Chrome Arches, Walnut dash with Trip guages, and Spotlight grill. Oh and the white bonnet stripes.

I need to get a set of mini lites and a grill to have all the parts there to return it to original if i ever want to.

But i really like the additions and changes so when we restored the car we left them on. All except the Bonnet stripes. I hate them and will be removing them at some point.

Ive got a mini Paul Smith, and in all fairness I disagree with keeping mini's "totally" original, i think it should be up to the owners as to whether they modify they car. Mines going to be going through a full restoration in the next few months with the addition of sportspack arches and sideskirts. Im also adding 13x7 satin wheels (www.minispares-online.co.uk) with a lime green pinstripe to inkeep with the styling of the car. At a later date when I have the cash its going to be supercharged, a rollcage added (in lime green) with the possibility of New cooper S Works seats in with lime green piping. I know some people will disagree with this, but of the 300 cars in Paul Smith Blue, there wont be one like this. Seeing them all the same is a bit boring in my opinion! Plus isnt the mini scene about being different?

I have another famous mini. Phoenix is an Equinox in Amaranth Purple..

She is far from orginal now, but after 3 accidents (write offs) and the last owner had modified her, there was no point in trying. I've kept the orginal colour, sourced original decals and have kept the interior. I love her to bits and is special to me.. thats all that matters.

her major modification is the flip front:

Is that a fibreglass flip front or steel?

yes the mini scene is about being different but its also sometimes different to see a completly standard mini as so many of them are modified

i dont think theres any right or wrong to it. the important thing is there's a mini being kept on the road

Mine (like roo's) Is a amaranth purple Equinox.

Still quite rare i would say, very few at mini shows (makes you feel special)

Mine is what i would call tastefully modified. Angel light, alloys, exhaust, dash. Still looks standard but has a few extra nice bits

Not an LE but when I got my GT it was all original/standard as far as I'm aware... even as far as the stereo, and old man brown vinyl roof >_<
