I don't think the Cord was a LE, but a brand.
I think it was the fibre bodied car built in S.America

" I'm starting to read up on the 'foreign' minis"
I have a Japan market car.

No the Cord wasnt an LE but a very interesting little car to read about especially the later 1994 prototypes

The first fibreglass Minis in South Amerca were made in Chile. They have deseamed bodies and squared of edges around the wheel arches and sills.

There was one for sale a few years ago for about £4000, but I have yet to see one.

Even the Sidewalk with what had to be the most disgusting interior ever!! :whistling:

Even some non limited editions from the 80,s need saving because they are dissapearing too like
Early City/City E
Early Mayfair
HL/HLE

Huggz
Jodie :-)

SIDEWALKS THE BEST INTERIOR EVER i love it because i'm very sad :P

and im currently restoring my fully original 89Mayfair Cherry red (currently black) its my first car and i was gonna do the usual lots of tarty bits and stage 1 kit etc but then realised its already fully original and not many mayfairs are standard so half my battle was won besides paint and pedals :-) so i changed my ideas and now have an almost fully original Mayfair.

Ashley

by the way Christov ;D read what the LTD editions are on here :P
http://en.wikipedia....imited_editions
it goes 1100 special, Rio ......what :D also no mention of which type of black or white LE?

My favourite limited edition minis have always been the jet black and the sky and rose ( not as much the rose :P lol ). I had a sky project, but then I just wanted rid of minis so I sold it half half way through :(

Theres more and more Ltd Editions dissapearing every day :(
I dont know what i find more upsetting seeing a pimped car that was once a Ltd Edition or seeing an Ltd Edition interior in another car which means yet another one has either been modified beyond recognition or gone to the great scrapyard in the sky :o

About 12 years ago i nearly bought a Ritz it was looking very sorry for itself so i walked away and got my clubby instead, that cars probably been scrapped now

Theres allways the more desirable Ltd,s like the 25,open classic, designer, advantage etc that seem to get saved but i do hope some of the following get saved in Original Spec Condition

I think emmalee made us all sit up and think when she restored her Sky
And Knebworth has now decided to return his Chelsea to Original Spec

Red Hot
Jet Black
Racing Green
Chelsea
Piccadilly
Ritz
Park Lane
Studio 2
Sky
Rose

Growing up in Birmingham in the 80s and early 90s I used to see lots of the LEs and it was always exciting to find a new one that had just been released. I used to badger my parents/aunts/etc to take me off to the dealer to get the brochure... so when I came to buy a Mini myself a couple of months ago it was a no-brainer that I'd want an LE, unmodified. I've got an 89 model Racing, pretty much original (even still has the white plastic wheeltrims!) and it will not be getting modified - though fair play to those who do change their's. I was tempted by a Sidewalk and a Rio too, partly for the crazy interiors as much as anything else.

I think my all-time favourite LE must be the Designer, mostly because of the Nimbus grey trim used for everything on the outside. Whatever one thinks of the results, it's hard not to admire Austin Rover's ingenuity in coming up with a stream of new models as a way to keep up sales. I wish more manufacturers would do the same now (and that the results would be as novel in terms of paint colour/trim/etc as many of the Mini LEs were).

What color is your 35? I've got a white one but it has been resprayed at some point in its life. Trying to find out what the original white was.

Should be diamond white I think, if that's what you meant.
