I have an Open Classic and it's as original as I can get it right now.

The only modifications that may be made are reversible ones, as I want to be able to (if i ever do) resell as an original. The only modification i've done so far is a period Moto-Lita MK4 steering wheel. I need some orange indicator lenses as the previous owner changed these, and some genuine sills fitted at some point as they fitted oversills. They also repaired the rear wheel arch at some point, badly, which now stops the rear card fitting correctly (Which he also snapped, before screwing and gluing into place. Bodge jobs everywhere!! It's now my job to restore the poor old girl to former glory! MOT on monday.. wish me luck! ^_^

we to have a open classic so good luck :proud:

She passed MOT after some minor welding and is back on the road as my daily. Still leaking water through the floor though! :(

i would rather have a 30 or a 40, the mini 35 was the worst anniversary edition ever built, there was nothing special about it whatsoever, even the alloy wheels were an optional extra!!

Its fine. Its not going to stay like that lol. Completly new interior and New paint. Maybe if its luck i'll keep the stickers. But its only 500 and its pretty much rot free.

Blue Angel Headlights
Spot lights
New air filter
Bullet mirrors
De-stickered
Wooden dash

Soon to have some arches on, forget what group they are. All easily reversed and all original parts dry stored.

From what i have heard mayfairs are not a limited edition, but i have not found another one the same as mine, it seems to be the only black 1983 mini mayfair in standard condition, only addition added by my nan and gramp when they still used it was old orginal lucas chrome spotlights, on a bracket complete with relocated front number plate, it also has had some cosmic, wolfrace slot mag style alloys which will be going back on as they suit the car, due to their period appearance! ;)

shame those type of wheels suit minis in my opinion, different to the minilites that everyone suggests! i think mine are cosmics not wolfrace, which we thought they were originally!, theres a few sets about, hope you find what you want soon! :-)
