I have a black Monte Carlo & I think they're just gorgeous! I love the interior. I've got the original sales brochure too which is pretty cool. Mine's entirely original except for the stereo and other small temporary amendments (gear knob, window stickers, etc). I wonder how many of these are still on the road, considering only 60 were made in the first place!

Only ever seen 2 others - 1 at Mini United, and 1 at The Lakes Tour 2008 - both black!

I've got a Studio 2 and I'm debating whether to keep it standard or not.
If I had the money, I'd keep the Studio 2 as original as possible then have a second car (Mayfair or something) to do what I want with it (and then a racing Clubman)
At the moment it's a debate of a 10" conversion and wide arches or not.
At the moment, the interior isn't standard, neither are the wheels and it has a stage 1 kit, also has spotlights. All done by previous owner.

I've kept Penny, my black 30, as original as the day I got her 18 years ago, apart from bringing her into the 21st Century by updating the ICE, but I can put all the original 80's kit back in easily
Oh and some s**t nicked my back wheels just after I got her and if you're a real anorak, you'll notice that I've got 2 Cooper Minilites(?) because the wheel nut holes are in a different position!
To be honest, I'd never change her and never sell her, but I really want a Mini I can personalise, so when money allows I'll be buying a second "project Mini"

Theres more and more Ltd Editions dissapearing every day ;)
I dont know what i find more upsetting seeing a pimped car that was once a Ltd Edition or seeing an Ltd Edition interior in another car which means yet another one has either been modified beyond recognition or gone to the great scrapyard in the sky :o

About 12 years ago i nearly bought a Ritz it was looking very sorry for itself so i walked away and got my clubby instead, that cars probably been scrapped now

Theres allways the more desirable Ltd,s like the 25,open classic, designer, advantage etc that seem to get saved but i do hope some of the following get saved in Original Spec Condition

I think emmalee made us all sit up and think when she restored her Sky :P
And Knebworth has now decided to return his Chelsea to Original Spec :dontgetit:

Red Hot
Jet Black
Racing Green
Chelsea
Piccadilly
Ritz
Park Lane
Studio 2
Sky
Rose

Even the Sidewalk with what had to be the most disgusting interior ever!!

Even some non limited editions from the 80,s need saving because they are dissapearing too like
Early City/City E
Early Mayfair
HL/HLE

Anybody think of any others im sure theres other Ltd,s but cant think of them all at the Mo :(

Huggz
Jodie :)

Maybe I'm going to get burned as toast, but I remember the Austin Rover Groups cynical attempts in the last milleum to make the mini more attractive, and quite frankly at the time it all seemed a bit silly. I mean a 'Mary Quant' Interior ? Tasteless black and white deckchairs with a red pin stripe ? What's so great about that then - unless you happen to be a gay hairdresser from stoke on trent ?

I'm a little older and history plays tricks on you, and a bit of 80's or 90's 998 originality NOW looks quite cool.

i have a chelsea. she is not original in the slightest although you can see small hints of the original red through the air vents lol i love her because she is so unusual but ide love her just as much if she still had all her original bits.
i think its like hair, some people choose to have their natural hair colour, some like to jazz it up (my hair is the same colour as my car hense the hair comment lol) as long as i get a mini wave once a week im happy xx

I've got a 92 mayfair, all original since 92, one previous owner. Managed to snap off the plastic wheel arch on the rear passenger side, it was already broken anyway, but i need a new one so i can stick the chrome arches on ! Beautiful car though,
