Well been busy again!!

The drivers side is now finished so it was time to start on the passengers. If I were honest I wasn't looking forward to it as the other side was such a PIG!!

Still, out with the plasma cutter and grinder!!

Posted Image

Used my door skinning pliers to good effect as well, made the job a lot easier(if only I'd have thought of this when I did the other side!!)

Posted Image

Heh BIG hole!

Posted Image

Posted Image

BIG pile of bits, this all the rusty steel and poor repairs that I've taken out of the car.

So, finished off all the repairs inside the companion bins

Posted Image

There was some rust on the window rail so I repaired that as well.

Posted Image

So now it was time to start fitting the new panel.........Hmmm couldn't be as bad as the other side...........could it?

YUP!!! Matter of fact even worse, spent all day tapping, fettling, bending, grinding to get a good fit. Next one do I will only use a genuine part, the pattern ones take too ,much time to fit.

Still after all that it does fit well and I'm happy with it.

Still got to finish welding it up but its all in place.

Next job......Door alignment!!

Stay Tuned..

Save yourself a LOT of work and buy genuine, the ones I had were a really poor fit. I'm used to trying to get pattern stuff to fit but these were something else.

Yeah see what you mean, you've done a good job of it though.

Might not have to replace it yet, but will probably have to!

Great work, you certainly don't hang around. I'm glad mine doesn't need the full quarter panel.

Don't worry, I'll take good care of it, both rear 1/4s were about 5mm to short!!!

I love pattern parts, would be bored otherwise!!

Hope you didn't have too much trouble when you turned up with it on your drive without mentioning it to your wife.
