shifty is a time lord - he can freeze time, do 3 days welding, and start time again.

is it me or is something freaky going on with this thread? my original post appearing at the top of every page???

cough* www.shropshireclassicminis.com* cough

Seems fine to me, And you should get that cough sorted out...

oh and few things on your new site, the 'Welcome to Shropshire Classic Minis' writing on the home page is barely readable in white, and your email adress isn't linked. ;)

Hi Chaps, sorry for the lack of updates, Dot is ready for going for paint and has been seam sealed and stonechipped.

No pics yet sorry!!

I've just been mega busy with my real job(building sachet machines!!) to update, works died down again now so normal service has been resumed.....phew....can't be doing with this work lark, don't know what people see in it!!

Thanks for all your kind comment, I really appreciate them.

Steve(monkey), I had a dolly that turned out to be pretty much an exact match for the roof curve, I just cut out the rust and then welded and blended the metal in. To be honest it wasn't that tricky, it probably took me 2/3 hrs to do.

Cheers Shifty, three of my four corners of my screen has gone like that and abit along one side- hence my questions. You make it look so easy!

I did originally quote that 1'd be putting 40/50hrs in the car, in the end it was more like double that. However the finished product was worth the extra effort.

On with the next one!!

A monumental day - you just wouldn't believe it was the same mini, but in one sense I suppose it isn't - by my reckoning maybe 60% new steel throught the old girl >_<

next stage then- illustrations to be done, and a poll on whether to bodykit or run group five euro arches over dot's original team dynamics wheels.

Some mechanical fettling to be done, Rc40 is ready to go on, and time to start thinking about interior and final trim.

This week is colour choosing week, so samples of candy pink, and sparkle pink will be done

dot took an upgrade on paint to a very specialised candy colour. It's been ordered from the USA and hopefully should be with us in the next week

imagine candy florescent pink !!

ditto craig

was the decision made between the bodykit and the group 5 euros?

I would use the group 5 euros, they look amazing when on the car :)

Out of intrest how much has this cost dot to get to this stage?

I think I'm being charged around 800 and the front end or cage hasn't been welded yet..... Or the grinding Down of the welds, saying that he's still got lots of little things to do on it :)

great work by the way

cheers

Greg

Costs to date are at approx £1200.00. :) current preference is sportspack arches and side skirts with colour coded front and rear bumpers, grill surround and headlight rings, and an RGA grille.
