It is probably because it is a modified car.
How about a tuned 998 at the moment?
If you waant a 1275 engine in a car at the moment you will probably need tp consider a Cooper or a 1275GT which were fitted with 1275 engines as standard.
This is the route I'm thinking of taking. It is actually a Mini 850, but without removing the engine 850's and 998's pretty much look identical.
And yes, I have spent an utter fortune. It's cost me over £5.5k now, luckily I've made some money out of the cars I've bought and sold previously but still it's got to be £3.5 - £4k out of my pocket atleast. And, only being 16, I've worked every weekend (most of the time all weekend) to buy stuff for this car, and yes I have paid for it all myself, I don;t have loaded parents who've just paid for everything.Good mate thats not good, you must have spend a firtune on that car and only to get to this point not good, good luck, can you not get classic car insurance through you mum?
I'm gutted Last resort is to sell it, but looking at the price of Cooper Sports I could probably afford a tidy one with the money I make from selling this. Anyone fancy a swap for a Cooper Sport, PM me and I'll tell you the engine specs (not quite stock). Atleast it'll be something to consider, not a definate at the moment.
A very unhappy feeling Dan
