Looking good. Don't look like to much more needs doing. I would keep the cosmics though mate. Their so much more different and you don't see them as often.

I'm getting so close to time now I just need a set of wheels I can put tyres on and go not fiddle about refurbing them. Depending on how much I get for the cossies and how much I can make out of a car i've just bought, I may even order a set of potenzas from germany... i still think that's a bit of a dream but we'll see! They're cheaper than split rims! And rarer!

Nearly got away with it

I've been dribbling over some 10x7 Potenzas that are available from Germany through eBay, but I think the 'rents have convinced me against those for now, just incase I clip a kerb or whatever whilst learning how to drive in the damn thing! At £500 just for a set of wheels, I'm gradually thinking they are right...

Set of Ultralites with tyres already fitted so long as I can sell the Cosmics & tyres. Then in a few months I'm sure Sam (summs116) will need a spares set for his car, so will sell them on to him and get my 'Tenzas

Dan

Won't be at L2B. Doesn't look like I'll be going anywhere, I can't get insurance. The day I bought this we phoned up to get insurance with a 1275 engine, and got quoted £1400. Now they won't do it atall. Oh dear, very very big problem. :mrcool: :P

I was gonna say. I dunno who gave you that quote but their must have been a mistake their lol. My 998 is £1350 with a years no claims. And something like this with a 1275 and I would have thought you would have done a agreed valuation would cost alot more then what you said. Anyway I hope you get it sorted.

Don't have a quote reference, do you?

What about if the 'rents insure it and you're a named driver? Just make sure you're 'not' the main driver! :mrcool:

I just got stung for 1100 quid for my insurance.

All of the main stream insurers ie tesco, zurich etc wouldnt touch me as soon as i said im 18. Went to adrian flux and after a couple of minutes was quoted 1100 third party fire and theft. 998 engine with mods declared. fair nuff im older and have had my license almost two years but i wasnt allowed to use my years ncb as it was on a named driver policy. Try em 0800 081 8989 . Better to talk to them than go through filling out forms and get told they cant insure you because youre too young. Adrian flux are apparently mini, young driver and modification specialists.

:P sounds like i work for em! Seriously though hope you get it sorted!

Nope, can't get insurance at the moment, just because I've put a 1275 engine in it! £1300 with the 850 in it. Yet, if I get insured under my Mums policy on a Cooper Sport (Sportspack MPi) I can get that for £1250! Just because it is standard as a 1275! It's the same god damn engine with a carb on!
I dunno where to go next. I don't want to put an 850 back to it, it'll be dead as a dodo! And I've just spent a fortune getting this engine rebuilt
Help!!!

It is probably because it is a modified car.
How about a tuned 998 at the moment?

If you waant a 1275 engine in a car at the moment you will probably need tp consider a Cooper or a 1275GT which were fitted with 1275 engines as standard.
