Does anyone know how inertia seatbelts are fitted to Pickups/vans? Obviously, I don't have rear bins so instead I've attached both the winder part and the other end (fixed part) to the inner sill on the same bolt. Works fine, but just wondered if this was what others do?
Dan :)

Pretty sure that's the way it used to be in Huey. Haven't got any specific photos but it looks that way in the corner of this picture

Built my custom speedo today. I'm extremely happy with the outcome, think it looks ace! (Even if I do say so myself... :))

Well done mate. I had been thinking of doing something along those lines for when I do the swift conversion as I don't really want the swift clocks as they wont go with the retro look. Was it hard to do?

Just had a look though some of the pages I hadn't seen. Well done on getting the early lights. Will looks so much better over all. The grill looks lovely too. Cant wait to see it at some shows this year.

Cheers!

Was a little fiddly to do, had to grind off the edges where the square block that would usually hold the internals on meets the actual back plate, then grind a square hole into a round hole! Took about an hour to get right, but once done looks spot on. Just used a little bit of quck steel to hold it all in place.
Only small issue is that I can't use the original fuel gauge, as the mechanism goes up too high and fouls the digi-dash. Will have to use the one on the digi dash! Just ground the top of the faceplate down a little to allow it to miss, but still fill the hole and look 'original'.
This backplate was meant as an experimental one, as I have a much tidier one. But as it fitted so well I just used the 'like new' faceplate, glass and surround and kept the old backplate. You never see it, so no-one will ever know! (Unless they're reading this right now... :P)

im not a fan of digital stuff in minis, dunno why i just dont like it, i think it looks too 'modern'. however youve done an exellent job on combining a modern digital clock with the original speedo. infact i think most people wouldnt even notice unless you pointed it out.

good work

Success! Exactly what I was going for. Thanks :-

To be honest, I'm really not a fan of the whole "Oh look I've stuck a square digi-dash in a board of MDF" type of thing, but didn't want to start adding guages here there and everywhere on the dash. So with a little bit of luck, a grinder and a hammer managed to make this dash fit in the centre of the old dash.

Wanted to keep it looking standard but still have a rev counter, and also have something a little 'different' (not that a Pickup as a 1st car isn't different enough already...)

I would like to purchase some of the original dials to go either side of the big clock if anyone has any. Looking to get some in nice condition, and with the same chrome surrounds (unlike those ^^ which have 1 earlier surround and one later surround). Was going to get some digital aftermarket ones, but then I think it would give away the whole retro look digi-dash thing I've got going on.

Dan

Exhaust needs mounting on, tailgate needs fitting, rear lights need fitting, everything wired up, wheels needs repainting, doors on, seats in, windows in, carbon bumpers needs picking up and fitting (if I can ever get hold of Arc Angles!) and urmmmm probably some more! I have a to-do list, which is gradually getting shorter but still fills an a4 sheet :dontgetit:

Just read through and this looks top! the colour is nice and the dash is a great idea! love the cosmics, they really suit!

are the twin hs4's not a bit too much on the 1275 or is it more than a 1275?

Ed
