Polished the coil and carb pots up too now, so its a bit more shiny shiny! Got a stainless top rad bracket on the way as well as many other parts, getting tight for money now so couldn't get a CF one

Got carpets in too...

Should be getting carbon fibre bumpers and overriders on saturday, can't wait!

Got top rad bracket on the other day, gear linkage now all connected after a bit of a panic when I ended knocking it into gear when the gear linkage wasn't connected. Luckily the roll pin turned up that morning (thanks MiniSpares!). Fuse box is on, other few little bits done. Little and often and hopefully it'll be done by May!

Thanks mate

Got the carbon fibre rocker cover for it still, but going to put that on nearer to the finish, don't want to go scratching it!

Alright mate
Progress is going well, and yes there is some! :( Got the front grill on topday, and the moustache. Got one of the back lights drilled in place too.
You know I was after one of those plastic SPi heaters and couldn't find one anywhere...
I opened up the shed (of all places!) and there was a lovely SPi heater sat there on the floor! Couldn't believe it :D I took it out of the GT before Craig had it, didn't even realise it was a plastic one because someone has put an old style switch panel on it.
That went in today aswell.

Here's some pictures...

Yummy yummy...

Tried to recover the lower dash rail too. All went well with foam padding until we put the vinyl cover (retro retrims) over. This is how it ended up...

Oops! Spent over an hour with white spirit and a cloth getting all the foam and sticky off! Going to try it again but without the foam this time
Dan :)

:D Thanks. No I haven't really built one before. Can't take much credit for my oval race car, Sam (summs116) built most of that. At that time I didn't even know the difference between a rachet and a spanner  (cue's the comments that I still don't... :() . Sam's built and put it the engine, but other than that most of it's been done by me! Sam often gets a daily phone call with me stood there scratching my head though! No idea what the car would be looking like without him! Cheers mate ;)

This looks brilliant. I've probably asked you before, but how can you afford to have project Minis at 16? i've practically got a full time job and i can't even afford a respray for my daily driver :(

I wish I knew a straight answer to this question. I don't really know how i've spent so much money, because adding up receipts and things it all comes to over 5x the amount I had saved up by august last year! I work all weekend, and spend most of my money on the car. If I have a little spare cash I'll go out, if not I wont. Car always comes first :(. Don't forget I'm not yet paying to run a car or pay rent on a flat yet... Dan :D
