I was awesomely cheeky and only offered £80 just incase he didn't know what they were, but i stuck to my guns at £100 and got them. And the brakes are all new, the calipers were supposed to come out graphite grey, but look more primer grey. I actually quite like the look of them in a matt colour though! :goaway:

Yeah that's why I couldn't walk away from them, none of the family really realise how much of a bargain I got :goaway: They think I'm mad spending £100 on lights when I've already got a set on the back of the car...

Nope, that's the original bed. It has had a couple of small repairs, but with a slight skim over the top looks near on perfect. Was a very lucky find to find one in such good nick. I know Gaz off the pickup forum replaced his, and I think it was M-Machine. He did spend 4 figures on panels though... Ouch!

And yes, here we have an update. A very very big update infact!

Me and my brother, who resprayed the car, had a really close look over everything last week, and came to the conclusion that we weren't happy with the finish of it. So he agreed to respray it again in a metallic blue. It's a custom mixture of Vauxhall Arden blue and Toyota MR2 Caribbean blue I think, because I couldn't chose which to have. So I had both! I think there's some added pearl in there too. I haven't got any decent outside pictures of it yet, but you get the idea from the following pictures. It looks so so sooo much better than before!

Also, the engine went in last night. Putting in radiator, starter, alternator etc later on today and hopefully it'll be running tonight or tomorrow. Still waiting on wiring loom though...

Here's some pictures:

The images make the engine look kind of pink, but it's not it's bright red and silver. Got the carbon fibre rocker cover to go on sometime, may do that tonight...

Got new plans then!?

I'm hoping to get over to the car in a minute and get some out-door photos :xxx:

Got a spare 1 1/2 litres of paint anyways, with the 'recipe' on the outside

Still no name :D
My mate sam was hitting the ball joint splitter when the head of the hammer came off yesterday though! Was extremely lucky, only a very small pin dent in the corner of the front panel which is hardly noticeable. I did say bad luck comes in 3s though, as yesterday that happened, the engine hoist decided not to allow up to jack it up and today we've found out the threads in the gearbox where the sump plug goes in are all stripped. So close to starting it for the first time too!

Got the sump plug heli-coiled and now we're away. She spoke her first few words tonight, something along the lines of clunk tzzzzt, puff, puff, clunk, BANG!!, clunk, puff, clunk, puff, brummm, clunk, puff, brumm, brummmmmm!!!

Erm, yes. Anyways... :P

Here's a short video of the first attempt. We got it running a little better after. And yes, it really does need an exhaust! :)

The video is being temperamental on my computer, let me know if it doesn't work!

EDIT: I found, if it doesn't work, slide the timeline bar thingy along a second or two and suddenly it works! Strange!

I think it definitely needs an exhaust :)

Have you got a L2B ticket yet? only 80 odd days left if you have :dontgetit:

Builds coming on really good, looks like you brother did a good job on the paintwork :P

Thanks :)

Not doing L2B, is 177 miles each way from here to the end point, that's not via the planned route! Too far 2 days after turning 17, next year though :dontgetit: I would like to do IMM next year too, where ever it may be...
