Simple question really. Can you get reported for doing a uturn, and 'bumping' the kerb, to park slightly on the path ?
Definition of bumping: driving slowly into the kerb, at around 45degree's in order to mount the pavement

... Because today, an old man came out of his house & threatened to report me this morning for bumping onto the kerb as i was picking my mate up as i ahve done every morning...

Yer, i would do. But from where i park, to the 'flat bit' of his drive, is right on a blindish bend... So it would be abit dangerous.

... So im guessing that he cant then?

yup what he said.

Although, slightly more illegal as its a damn site more dangerous because your in a car.

Your not actually allowed to park with 2 wheels on the kerb anywhere either.

i went on a safe driving course where this cop/comedian told us about all the stupid laws they forgot to get rid of which are technicly still in use.

You can shoot welsh people who try to cross the boarder with a cross bow on wednesdays, well i think it was wednesday.

Chris

And if you're pregnant and you're caught short, you can wee in a policeman's helmet (as long as you pre-warn him of course...)
and.... it used to be against the law to play golf on a sunday!

Back on topic, you're not legally allowed to park your car on the kerb, because this way you are obstructing the path for pedestrians, meaning that in some cases they would have to venture onto the road to walk round the car, meaning that they are in the way of oncoming traffic causing a danger to motorists and themselves. The best policy is to park square to the kerb so that the car is not obstructing the flow of traffic.

It depends. Local councils have different rules. All HGVs are not aloud on the path atall. Some councils have by-laws expressly forbidding it, others encourage it.

The Highway Code is just that - a code of conduct. It is not legally enforcable in itself, although of course a lot of what it states does come under the various Acts.

Any driver can be fined for causing unnecessary or wilful obstruction, and this is the penalty motorists can face for parking on the footpath or verge.
