Thanks for the comments guys! Always appreciated :-)

It felt good to stand back and look at the engine once it was fitted. Really is a big step forward in the build as far as i'm concerned. I did also install the front brakes and carb today so will get some pics up of that tomorrow.

Really looking forward to Bingley next weekend, i haven't been to any shows since MITP last year. I have a list of parts to look out for and will also be getting some ideas on the dash layout when i look round the minis.

Pics as promised :-)

I was a bit disappointed when i offered the carb up into the bulkhead box to find it was a very tight fit. Had to bash a flat onto one side of the air filter to get it to fit with a 1mm gap. Not ideal but i don't really want to run trumpets. Might look into getting a smaller filter/s instead

The new brakes etc. Not all finished, need some longer bolts for the damper mounts and some nuts for the track rod ends.

Been a while since my last update. The body shop have had the mini for the last 3 weeks to sort out a few little scratches and things and just got it back today. Bought plenty of things for it whilst i was waiting so there will be lots of updates soon. Anyway, this is how she is looking as of now.

Whilst the mini was gone and i had some spare time i thought it would be good fun to start building a small go kart with my brother as a bit of a side project. Only a small one with a garden chair for the seat mind but i have a nice honda 13hp engine to power it so should be pretty fast. I plan to get the frame sand blasted once it's finished so i can spray it a colour.

your mini looks fab, great colour sceme and attention to detail in engine bay, I am a little concerned re the carb, have you had the engine running in the current position, if so is the carb vibrationg against the bulkhead recess on that tight spot??

Yes i know, not good really but when i made the bulkhead box i fitted it in the middle thinking that the carb would fit it. Unfortunately it didn't fit though. Have bought a smaller filter that should fit better but would have prefered to keep the k&n to be honest :(

Forgot to mention i have finished all the wiring in the engine bay now so the dash can be wired up next. Just need a couple more gauges and some switches and i can get on with it.
